Overview

Endless Expedition Steam Demo is one complete fog-road expedition out of Ember Stronghold: a fixed 9-node route of story choices, decision-based auto-combat, rest, loot, and a signature temple beat. A first clear is typically a short single run (about 15–30 minutes), ending at the ridge Exit Beacon—light the fire or seal the route record, then return to the hub with permanent progress kept for replays.

Node-by-node route

1. Ash Gate — The stronghold gate closes; pick the safer patrol road or the ash-slope shortcut. (EVT_DEMO_ASH_GATE)
2. Broken Caravan — An overturned wagon still holds a lantern; search crates, follow drag marks, or move on. (EVT_DEMO_BROKEN_CARAVAN)
3. Bone Ambush — A skeletal archer opens fire from a broken bridge—close in or break line of sight into combat. (EVT_DEMO_BONE_AMBUSH)
4. Cinder Rest — Warm ashes in a collapsed wall’s lee; rest by the fire, take a stranger’s charm, or press on. (EVT_DEMO_CINDER_REST)
5. Sunken Chest — Knee-deep black water and a bone-locked iron chest; pick the lock, pry it open, or take a rubbing and leave. (EVT_DEMO_SUNKEN_CHEST)
6. Fog Trader — A copper-masked merchant trades scrap for supplies, memory, or whispered intelligence. (EVT_DEMO_FOG_TRADER)
7. Dilapidated Temple — Enter the ruin that teaches the demo’s signature Codex / Rule beat (true names and rubbings). (EVT_TEMPLE_RUIN_01)
8. Bone Warden — Demo boss: face the bone-bell gatekeeper (or shatter the bell first) to open the way home. (EVT_DEMO_BONE_WARDEN)
9. Exit Beacon — Fog splits on the ridge; light the return beacon or seal the route’s rubbing, then end the run. (EVT_DEMO_EXIT_BEACON)

What this Demo does not include

• Multi-region / full chapter campaign (no growth-chapter switch; expeditions are locked to this 9-node path)
• Random map generation beyond this authored route
• The full commercial content pool (hundreds of events, deep class flood, hybrids festival, Workshop, etc.)
• Action-combat or open-world ARPG traversal
• Steam achievements / cloud save as a shipping requirement for this build
